Sports Injury Treatment in Gladesville

Exercise physiologist assessing a client's movement

Rated 5.0 by 100+ locals

Injured? Let's get you back out there properly.

Being sidelined is frustrating, and the temptation is always to rush it. The trouble is that most re-injuries happen because someone returned when the pain stopped rather than when the strength came back, and the second one is usually worse than the first.

The good news? We can help. We've supported pro athletes, gym goers, office workers, tradies and hundreds of locals in between, and the approach is the same: settle it, rebuild it, then load-test it before you go back.

Physiotherapy, chiropractic, podiatry and exercise physiology all sit under one roof in Gladesville, so your rehab does not stall waiting on a referral somewhere else.

Sports injuries, explained

01Acute injury or overuse?

It matters, because they need different things. An acute injury has a moment you can point to, a rolled ankle or a pulled hamstring, and follows a fairly predictable healing timeline. An overuse injury builds silently over weeks as load outpaces recovery, and treating it without changing the load simply buys time.

02What we treat

Sprains and strains, muscle tears, tendon injuries, joint pain and the overuse problems that come with a jump in training. Where the issue starts at the foot, our podiatrists assess gait and footwear, because a knee or shin problem is often being driven from below.

  • Sprains, strains and muscle tears
  • Tendinopathy and tendon irritation
  • Ankle, knee and shoulder injuries
  • Shin splints and overuse injuries
  • Post-surgical rehab, including ACL and reconstructions
03How soon should I be seen?

Early. Getting an accurate diagnosis in the first week usually shortens the whole recovery, and it stops you either resting an injury that needed loading or loading one that needed rest. If you are unsure whether it is serious, that uncertainty is itself a good reason to get it assessed.

04How do we treat it?

Hands-on treatment to settle pain and restore movement, then progressive loading to rebuild strength and tendon capacity, then sport-specific work so the tissue can handle what you are about to ask of it. Our exercise physiologists take over the strength and conditioning end, which is the part most rehab skips.

Back to sport, not just back to comfortable.

Pain settling is the first milestone, not the finish line. We use objective strength and movement testing so the decision to return is based on what your body can actually do rather than how it feels on a good day, because that gap is where re-injuries live. You'll get treatment from your very first visit and a plan you understand.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral to be seen for a sports injury?

No referral is required. You can book directly with our Gladesville team, simply choose a time that works for you.

Should I ice it and rest, or keep moving?

It depends on the injury, which is the honest answer. Some need a short period of protection, others get worse with rest. In the first day or two, settle it and avoid anything that sharply increases the pain, then get assessed so you are not guessing.

How long until I can play again?

That depends on the tissue involved and how it responds, so we will not put a number on it before assessing you. What we will do at your first appointment is give you an honest estimate and the specific markers you need to hit before returning.

Can you help with an injury I have had for months?

Yes. Long-standing injuries usually mean either the diagnosis was not quite right or the loading was never progressed far enough. Both are worth reassessing properly rather than continuing with something that has not worked.

Do you treat post-surgical rehab?

Yes, including ACL repairs, shoulder reconstructions and joint replacements. We'll work alongside your surgeon's protocol and progress you through it with our physiotherapy and exercise physiology team.

Do you offer health fund rebates?

Yes, we offer on-the-spot rebates for most private health funds. Just bring your card to your appointment and we'll process it instantly, so you only pay the gap.

Where is your clinic?

We're at 74 Morrison Rd, Gladesville NSW 2111, open Monday to Friday 7am to 7pm and Saturday 8am to 12pm.
